Margaret Ann Specht White
Margaret Ann Specht White, age 75, formerly of 1525 Lew Court in Quincy, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 in Sycamore Healthcare Centre. She was born on March 8, 1938 in Quincy, the daughter of Harvey and Rachel (Phillips) Specht. She married Lawrence White of Carthage on July 2, 1966 in Union United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Margaret worked at Methodist Sunset Home for 25 years as an aide. She was a volunteer of RSVP at the Veterans’ Home along with her husband. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church her whole life. Margaret collected dolls and loved reading. Margaret loved her pets, especially her dog Chiki and her granddog Snowy! Margaret was a very kind soul, always volunteering her time taking care of and serving others. She will be gravely missed by her family, son, daughter-in-law & Snowy. Margaret had a beautiful smile that was very infectious and had a heart of gold.

SEVEN SIBLINGS: Paul Specht and his wife Carolyn of Midwest City, OK; Phillip Specht and his wife Madeline of Miami, FL; Carol Kropp of Fort Madison, IA: David Specht and his wife Julia of LaGrange, MO; Roy Specht and his wife Barbara of Quincy; Frank Specht and his wife Karen of Quincy and Harold Specht and his wife Sandy also of Quincy.
In addition to her husband, Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents, Harvey & Rachel Specht, a brother Earl Specht and a daughter Denise White in infancy.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Union United Methodist Church or a memorial fund in Margaret’s name.
