Marcus William Ballard
Marcus William Ballard, age 37, of Quincy, left our world to find peace with his sister and father on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Marcus was born on January 1, 1982 in Quincy.
Marcus, ‘Markie Mark’ as we called him when he was young, lived a fun-filled life with his family. Marcus was a graduate of Quincy High School and was a roofer most of his adult life.
He is survived by:
The loves of his life, his daughters Destiny Lynn Ballard and Addisun Elizabeth Ballard along with their mother, his one true love, Amanda Mixer.

Marcus was preceded in death by: his father Ed Minear; a son Jaxon Ballard in infancy; a sister Elizabeth Minear Baker and a nephew Frankie Baker.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for expenses.
i remember the day i called you dad, i didn’t mean to, me you and addisun were at scotties and i said “hey dad-” all he did was smile and get into his red truck, it was embarrassing, i have so many funny memories with you, you were like a dad to me, i miss and love you every day. fly high

I didn’t see or speak with Marcus sometimes for months at a time and then he’d just show up…just when I needed a friend most. He was my buddy and sometimes I think really my only real friend. Tears came to my eyes Sunday night when I heard the news. It still hurts my heart. I will NEVER forget you Marcus, never. I hope you’re at peace. The hard parts done. You can rest brother.
