Marcelline “Marcy” Ludwig

Marcelline “Marcy” Ludwig, age 80, of 1508 Spring St. Quincy died on Thursday, June 14, 2012 in her home.

She was born May 16, 1932 in Pittsfield, IL, a daughter of Everett and Sadie (Aiken) Harris. She married Richard “Dick” Ludwig on April 30, 1960. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1987.

She worked at Gully Transportation for the last 15 years.

Marcy crocheted and most recently she made clothing for her grand daughters American Girl dolls. Marcy loved to visit her family in Florida, going to Disney and making sure that her favorite ride of all time was still there, “It’s a Small World”. She enjoyed sitting outside on warm, summer days and reading romance novels.

She is survived by six children, Tammy Ludwig of GA, Mark Ludwig and his wife Heidi of Quincy, Theresa Ludwig of Quincy, Paul Ludwig and his wife Carrie of FL, Tracey Clark of FL, and Jeff Ludwig of Quincy; six grandchildren, Kristen Zahm of Quincy, Jessica Clark, Aaron Clark and Christina Clark all of FL, Kaylee Ludwig of Quincy and Lauren Ludwig of FL.

In addition to her husband, Dick, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 19 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Public Library or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

    My condolences to the family. Marcy lived across from us on Spring Street (when we lived there years ago). What a sweet soul!
