Madeline Margaret Kemner, age 94, of Sycamore Healthcare Center, formerly of 1617 Cherry, Quincy, died on Thursday, January 28, 2016 in the home. She was born on April 6, 1921 in Rock Island, IL, a daughter of John & Selma ( Riley) Lenane. She married Richard A. Kemner on August 3, 1941 in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1988.

Mrs. Kemner was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Prior to her retirement she was employed as a nurse’s aide and in housekeeping. She and her husband enjoyed following the local drum & bugle corps during their popularity.

She is survived by:
A SON: Richard P. Kemner and his wife Lorene of Climax Springs, MO;
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Richard Kemner of Hilltown, PA, Jason Kemner of Climax Springs, MO, Adam Kemner of Clarence, IA, Kelly Downs of Edmonds, WA and Chad Downs of Quincy;
TWENTY-TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN

In addition to her husband, Richard, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Linda Downs and Johnny Downs, a half-brother, Bernard Riley and a sister, Evelyn Kramer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday beginning at 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis Church. Masses may be given in memory of Madeline. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
