M. Louise Sanders

M. Louise Sanders, age 79, of 1015 N. 5th St., Quincy, died on Sunday, September 30, 2012 in her home. She was born on November 29, 1932 in Green City, MO, a daughter of Bernard & Olive (Tipton) West. She married Darrell Sanders on May 20, 1950 in Milan, MO. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2001.

Louise was employed at the Illinois Veteran’s Home, retiring in 1991.

Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, James Sanders of Quincy; four daughters, Jeri Alexander, Mary Clark and her husband Bob, all of Quincy, Debbie Lewis of San Antonio, TX and Pamela Goodwin of Quincy; 14 Grandchildren, Crystal Cain, Steve Cain, Beverly Dreyer, Brian Dreyer, Brad Dreyer, Tammie Steele, Tim Gibson, Travis Gibson, Cory Miller, Josh Shelton, Jami Louise Sanders, Amanda Goodwin, Devin Milsap and Carlee Lewis; two Step-Grandchildren, Keli Kahs and Jamie Clark; and 16 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Darrell, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sherri Cain; a grandson, Tyson Lewis; and three brothers, Charles, Herbert, and Bernard West, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

    Debbie, Pam and Family – I have so many fond memories of your mother growing up. She spent so much of her life caring for others. She was very special and will always hold a special place in my heart. Thinking of you all from afar and sending love your way. Susie
