Lulu Mae DeJaynes

Lulu Mae DeJaynes, age 77, of the Sunset Home, formerly of Fowler, Il, died on Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on January 30, 1933 in Hull, Illinois, the daughter of Forrest & Lela (Schoolcraft) Havens. She married Lloyd T. DeJaynes on March 11, 1951. He preceded her in death in the year 2000. Lulu Mae worked as a CNA for the Illinois Veterans Home for 25 years. She was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church. Lulu Mae enjoyed quilting, cooking, and was an avid reader. She also was very talented at sewing, having made her daughters’ wedding dresses along with many of her own clothes.

She is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Pamela Cantrell and her husband George of Clayton, IL; Stanley DeJaynes and his wife Kathy of Kelso, WA; Michael DeJaynes and his wife Pam of Quincy; Janet DeJaynes of Quincy and Diana Keokham and her husband Xanexay ‘Shawn’ of Mt. Sterling, IL.
ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: David Cantrell, Geordan Cantrell, Candy Scalise and her husband Rodney; Mandy Blumke and her husband George; Missy Henry, Tony DeJaynes, Alex DeJaynes, Brandon DeJaynes, Dustin DeJaynes, Austin DeJaynes and Molliny Keokham.
STEP-GRANDCHILDREN: Marci Garvey and her husband Pat; Hema Rebman and her husband Joe; Lekha Mayes and her husband Bryant; Phouseung Keokham and Songkane Keokham
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Machaela Cantrell, Anthony Cantrell, Lilly Cantrell, Noah Scalise, George Blumke, Emily Blumke, Matthew Blumke, Lexis Henry, Haley Henry .
A VERY SPECIAL FRIEND: George Ellsworth along with numerous step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Lulu Mae was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Chuck, Copey and David Havens and 1 sister: Carol Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 1:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Kenneth Pate. Entombment will be in Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.

    i will always remember her…she is one sweet lady …who has received her crown in heaven…we lost a treasure ..heaven gained a angel….she will b missed…always remember she is better off then we are on earth..never easy… but she is no longer in pain
