Lucille Lydia Sutton
Lucille Lydia Sutton, age 97, of the Sunset Home, formerly of Arizona, died on December 10, 2013 in the Home. She was born on September 10, 1916 in Franklin Grove, IL the daughter of Germain Francis & Katherine Dorothy (Walters) Weiser. She married Wilburn Earl Sutton on October 1, 1938 in Dixon, IL. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1994. Mrs. Sutton was a housewife but had worked as a candy wrapper for Bordens Candies in Dixon, IL and had been a part-time clerk with the Newark Post Office in Newark, MO. Lucille had attended South Central grade school and Dixon High School in Dixon, IL.
Lucille was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She greatly loved playing ‘Aggravation’ with her family. She also loved family get-togethers and cooking.
Lucille is survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Earl James Sutton and his wife Barbara of Wilhoit, AZ and Mary Katherine Sutton of Quincy
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: James Sutton and his wife Cynthia; Bill Sutton and his wife Sharon; Randy Dare and his wife Kari and Josh Sutton and his wife Lynn.
A SISTER: Frances Dorothy Weise Wurtzberger
Also surviving are very dear great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by: Four brothers: George, Wilbur, Clarence, and Walter Weiser.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:30 until the time of the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Sunset Home or to the Quincy Senior Center.
