Lucille D. Lowe

Lucille D. Lowe age 82, formerly of 821 Christopher Court, Quincy, IL died May 30, 2013 in St. Vincent’s Home. She was born December 1, 1930 in Quincy, IL
a daughter of Leona (Willer) Metzger and Michael Metzger.

She married Claude F. Lowe, Jr. on June 11, 1952, Claude predeceased Lucille on April 17, 1998. In addition to raising five children, she previously worked in the St. Dominic School cafeteria and then later at Bergners before retiring.

She was a graduate of St. Francis Grade School and Notre Dame High School.
She was a longtime member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and a current member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

Lucille was a member of the following organizations:
St. Dominic Ladies Auxiliary, St. Francis Ladies Auxiliary
Sunset Home Auxiliary and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include:
Her children: Barb (Don) Wehmer of Weldon Springs, MO; Jim (Kris) Lowe of Palmyra, MO; Tim (Stacy) Lowe of Topeka, KS; Connie (John) Johnson of Quincy, IL; Tom (Lori) Lowe of Mt. Prospect, IL

Grandchildren: Ken Sparrow, Jr. (Tanya) of Quincy, IL; Jennifer Sparrow of Quincy, IL
Melissa (Matt) Drew of Quincy, IL; Blake Johnson of Quincy, IL
Claudia Lowe, Amanda Lowe and Grace Lowe of Mt. Prospect, IL
Step-Grandchildren: 6 Great-Grandchildren: 9
A brother, Raymond Metzger of Mt. Sterling, IL and sister, Rosemary Neisen of Quincy, IL
She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lucille was preceded in death by: Husband, Claude F. Lowe, Jr. her parents,
a father-in-law, Claude F. Lowe, Sr. Mother-in-Law, Gelletta Lowe; Granddaughters, Jamie Lowe; and Jodi Lowe; Daughter-in-Law, Susie Lowe; Step-Granddaughter, Jessie Hopson; Sister, Betty Jansen and brothers, Martin Metzger and John Metzger.

The Family would like to especially thank the caregivers at Bradford Villa, St. Vincent’s Home, Blessing Hospice and Blessing Hospital for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church by Rev. Tom Shaughnessy, O.F.M. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh, with a parish prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Hospice or St. Francis Solanus Church Parish Center Building Fund. www.dukerandhaugh.com

    Tim, Sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. She was always very pleasant when I saw here at the St Dominic events. I am sorry I could not make the visitation as we were gone on vacation until late Sunday.

    I remember Mrs Lowe from when we were kids at ST Francis she was the sweetest lady. My sympathy to Barb and all of the family
