Lori Anne Cadwallader
Lori Anne Cadwallader, age 61, of Quincy IL, stepped into eternal life on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL after sustaining injuries in a car accident.
Lori was born on May 16, 1961 in Quincy. She is the daughter and forth child of Donald & Rosemary (Ohnemus) Reichert. Her siblings are Tim Reichert (Cindy), Ted Reichert (Mary), Linda Dopheide (Dick), Joe Reichert (Chris), and Janice Huber (Kent). They will all agree Lori was the brave, kind, and wild middle child of the family.
After her grade school years at St. Dominics Catholic School, she graduated from Quincy Senior High School. Lori then went on to John Wood Community College and became a LPN.
She married Kevin Cadwallader on June 18, 1984 at Bethel Assembly of God Church. The two enjoyed 38 years of marriage. Their favorite adventure together was raising their two daughters: Kerri Schaller (Scott) of Quincy and Sarah Troyer (Rodney) of Camp Point, IL.
Lori was an amazing nurse who could always make her patients smile and feel well cared for. She worked for two decades at Blessing Hospital and was awarded Nurse Excellence of the Year. She then went on and worked for Quincy Medical Group until she retired in 2010.
Her absolute favorite job was being a Nana to her four grandchildren: Silas, Ruth, and Jude Schaller and Bryanna Troyer. She was always the biggest fan at every recital, concert, or sports game she attended and made them each feel so special. Lori was also the crazy-fun aunt to numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved making cookies, messes, and memories with.
She loved being outside in God’s creation, growing flowers, listening to music, reading her bible, and taking sunset boat rides. Lori was spontaneous, full of energy, caring, and incredibly generous. She was well known for her creativity, fast cleaning skills, and delicious cooking. She lit up the room and was the life of every party but also the one to gladly wash all the dishes at the end.
Lori was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and even in the midst of great trails she clung to him. Lori was preceded in death by her father.
There will be a graveside service that all are welcome to attend on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10 a.m. It will be located at Shiloh Cemetery (182 E. 1900th St.) in Plainville, IL. Following the burial there will be a gathering at the St. Anthony’s Parish Hall in Quincy from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. to celebrate and remember the life of the much loved Lori Anne.
The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “Lori’s Legacy” an education fund for her grandchildren.
