Lori Ann Russell

Lori Ann Russell, age 59, of Quincy went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Timber Point Healthcare Center.
She was born February 3, 1964, in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Walter “Bud” Purvis and Mary Ellen (Ulry) Ames of New London, MO. She married her husband and soulmate, George Ellis Russell, on June 15, 1991, in Quincy, IL. He survives.

Lori was a kind soul who adored young children and babies and her work in daycare. She was a Girl Scout Leader and taught Sunday School at Faith Journey Church, formerly Faith Christian Church. When she wasn’t spending time in her children’s classrooms as a room mother, she would be busy baking and feeding anyone who came through her kitchen. Lori was “Everyone’s Mom” and you could never leave her home hungry. She was a dedicated “prayer warrior” and a member of several prayer groups. Above all, Lori loved Jesus and spending time with her beloved family, especially her precious grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Brent Russell; Holly (Jason) Knuf; and Christina (James) Reid all of Quincy, IL. Grandchildren, Kilee and Noah; Aurora, and Lorenzo, Emileo, and Arabella. Her siblings, Jay (Leslie) Purvis of Hannibal, MO; Kathy (Greg) Cornelius of New London, MO; sister-in-law Violet (Brian) Bentley of Wentzville, MO. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews also survive.
Her father, Bud Purvis, and his wife Linda; her mother-in-law, Florence Russell; her nieces, Kasey Moss; Kassondra Terrill; Amanda Allen; her godmother, Cheryl Lee of Hannibal, MO; and her dear friends Mary Neuser and Karen Robertson.

Lori was preceded in death by her mother; maternal and paternal grandparents; her aunt Kathryn “Sue” Jones; father-in-law George A. Russell; and nephew Glenn “Jamie” Cornelius.
