Loretta M. Mast

Loretta M. Mast, age 100, of Springfield, formerly of 2045 Spring, Quincy, died on Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Regency Nursing Facility. She was born on September 22, 1913 in Quincy, a daughter of Henry Bernard and Carolina C. (Wienhoff) Lohman. She married Christian J. Mast in St. Rose Catholic Church, on April 15, 1930. They enjoyed over sixty years of married life before he preceded her in death on January 11, 1991.

Most of her life was dedicated to being a housewife and mother. She worked at St. John’s Hospital in Detroit, MI retiring in 1977, when they returned to Quincy. She moved to Springfield in 2001 and was a member of Christ the King Parish. She had been a long time member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. She belonged to the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Western Catholic Union, Ladies of Charity and St. Francis Altar Society.

Survivors include:
ONE SON: Gerald R. Mast and his wife Sue of Springfield;
ONE DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Rosalyn Mast;
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Steven Mast and his wife Dena of Hamilton, Susan Mast of Quincy, Jane Gregory and her husband Jim of Quincy, Chris Mast of Springfield, Lori and her husband Tim Luttenegger of Olathe, KS, Linda McClure and her husband Mike of Bloomington and Leanne Novar and her husband Jim of Springfield.
THIRTEEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN and ONE GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILD.
Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other family also survive.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son James C. Mast, two brothers and seven sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM until the time of Mass in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.
