Loretta “Lori” J. Nazimek, age 69, of 2054 Maple, Quincy, died peacefully in her home on June 1, 2016. She was born on July 27, 1946 in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and LaVerne (Anderson) Nazimek.

Loretta was a kind and gentle woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She also had a fondness for cats.

Loretta had retired from a 23 year-long career at Prudential Insurance Company in Minnesota. After moving to Quincy, she joined Western Catholic Union, retiring there in 2015. She enjoyed participating in the numerous volunteer activities that were offered there.

Survivors include her Aunt, Dolores Nazimek of Chicago; numerous cousins; other relatives and Casper, her cat.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Pauline Pawlik; her grandfather, Joseph P. Nazimek; her father, Joseph J. Nazimek; her brother, James Nazimek; her cat, Snickers.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 6:00 PM at St. Francis Catholic Church; visitation will also be held at St. Francis Catholic Church from 5 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
