Loren Oscar Simon
Loren Oscar Simon age 76, of Liberty, IL died on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 5:58 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.
Loren was born November 11, 1944 in Quincy a son of Oscar and Vesta (Drebes) Simon.
He married Elaine M. Boone on July 11, 1964 in Plainville Methodist Church, and she survives.
Loren was a lifelong farmer; he also worked for Farm and Home Supply as a truck-driver until his retirement.
Loren was a 1962 graduate of Liberty High School.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Lost Prairie and the Adams County Farm Bureau.
Loren was a fan of St. Louis Cardinal baseball, watching Westerns and RFD T.V. He enjoyed solving word-search puzzles and taking his golf cart out to check on the neighbors.
In addition to his wife Elaine, survivors include two children, Merle (Daphne) Simon of Liberty; Sheryl (Chris) Miller of Perry, IL;
Two grandsons, Logan Simon of Hays, KS and Levi Simon of Liberty.
A sister, Marie (Jim) Ebbing of Quincy; brother and sisters-in-law, Norman (Nancy) Boone of Barry; Rosalyn Boone of Plainville; Barbara Boone of Quincy and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-and-father-in-law, Gladys & Leo Boone; and brothers and sister-in-law, Roger Boone, Marvin Boone, Jim (Nancy) Boone.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Lost Prairie by Rev. Ron Graham.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends are invited and may call at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Those attending the services are kindly asked to wear a face mask and observe distancing guidelines.
Memorials are suggested to Liberty F.F.A. Alumni or to St Peter’s Lutheran Church at Lost Prairie Cemetery.
