Loraine G. Urban

Loraine G. Urban age 94, of Sunset Home, died on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 5:55 a.m. in the home. She was born March 19, 1920 in West Ely, MO a daughter of Joseph P. and Margaret (Fernbach) Hannick. She married Andrew Urban on November 4, 1950, and he died January 1, 1975.

Years ago, Loraine worked in Hannibal at the shoe factory, and then at International Shoe Company in Quincy. Prior to retiring she worked at Davis & Cleaver for many years.

Loraine was of the Catholic faith and attended Mass every Wednesday at Sunset Home. She was a member of the Machinist Lodge #822. As a young woman, she loved to go fishing, and travel with her husband Andrew to the Lake of the Ozarks and making trips to visit family. At Sunset Home, she was always ready to go play BINGO.

Survivors include her nieces, Patricia (Bob) Sheely; Phyllis Lugering; Brenda Sandifer and Barbara (Larry) Logsdon all of Quincy ; a special nephew, Ronnie (Jan) Cook of Mendon; great-nieces and nephews, Pam Sheely; Rob (Sandy) Sheely; Tim (Jenny) Sheely; Todd (Robin) Lugering; Sarah Lugering; John (Jamie) Logsdon; Chad (Barbie) Logsdon; great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Her husband, a sister, Irene Sandifer; a brother Wilfred in infancy and a nephew-in-law, Mark Lugering.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Monsignor Michael Kuse. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament Parish or to Sunset Home.
