Linda K. Meyer
Linda K. Meyer, age 76, of Quincy, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in Spring Hill, Florida. Linda was born on June 2, 1947, in Quincy, to Herbert and Katherine (Parks) Budde.
She married Richard Meyer on July 11, 1970, in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2020.
Linda attended Quincy Notre Dame High School and Quincy School of Practical Nursing. She began her career in 1966 as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital and retired from Blessing Hospital in 2019. She cared deeply about her patients and life-long friends made working at the hospital.
Linda lived her life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to travel throughout the United States and internationally with her husband and family or spend time with her friends. She was known for her sense of humor and infectious laugh. She had a special relationship with her granddaughter, Zadrianna, and loved spending time with her.
Survivors include her three children: Kristina Stratton, and her husband, John, of Spring Hill, FL; Craig Meyer, and his husband, Jason Kertz, of Chicago, IL; and Alex Meyer, and his husband, Austin Kollefrath, of Seattle, WA. A granddaughter, Zadrianna Garofano, of Spring Hill, FL.
Her siblings: Fred Budde, of Quincy, and a sister, Barbara Arndt, of Jefferson City, MO survive. Her brother and sisters-in-law: Carol Wehner, and her husband, Robert, of San Antonio, TX; Leonard “Jack” Meyer, and his wife, Theresa, of St. Peters, MO; Darlene Leithoff and her husband, Johnnie, of Quincy; Rita Schulze of Quincy; James Meyer, and his wife, Charolette, of Fowler, IL; Susan Schoonover, and her husband, Steve, of Quincy; Andrew “Andy” Meyer, and his wife, Tammy, of Quincy; Ann Peck, and her significant other, Randy Stark, of Quincy. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Meyer, his parents, her mother and father, Herbert and Katherine Budde, brother-in law, John Ardnt, and sisters-in-law, Saran Budde, Patricia Requet and Judith Eschman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M with a service to follow at 6:00 PM at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Private interment will be in Sunset Cemetery. I worked at Blessing with Linda in the Cardiology/Cardiac Cath Lab & we became good friends. She was a sweet person & took the time to care for her patients, was always smiling & just genuinely cared for everyone. I’m sorry to hear of her passing & extend my deepest sympathy to her family. I worked with Linda in ICU @ St Mary’s Hospital & we became good friends. She was very dedicated to her work & loyal to her many friends. My sympathy & prayers sent for her family.

Katherine worked with Linda at St. Marys in the ICU back in 69. She was such a good friend that Katherine and I introduced her to Rich. The rest is history in their 50-plus-year marriage. We stayed best friends and in fact they became godparents to our daughter Christina.
Linda was such a sweet and generous person and we will miss her.

Sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. My acquaintance with her was through her husband Rich. He and I shared our love of coaching volleyball.
After games we would stop at Kellys, He would always take home a piece of pie for Linda.Our prayers go out to Linda’s family and friends.
