Linda Bowen

Linda S. Bowen, age 75, of Quincy, IL, died on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. in her daughter’s home. She was born January 21, 1948 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Howard and Verna (Mason) Sparks. She married Franklin T. “Butch” Bowen on September 21, 2001. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2013.

Linda enjoyed trying her luck in gambling and liked to go shopping. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all.

Linda is survived by her children: Lori Burdette and her fiancé Ray of Keokuk, IA; Clarence Finley and Shane Finley both of Quincy; her stepdaughters: Margaret Little and Loretta Bowen; her siblings: Rodney Sparks of Quincy, Regina Sparks of Mendon, IL, Steve Sparks and his wife Rose of Ewing, MO; her grandchildren: Precious Thomas, Antonia and James Benninghoff, Patrick West, Steven Masterson, Brooklyn Moore and Zoeie Finley, Zayne Fenton, Zachery Tuter, Matthew Thomas, and Jeremy Bowen. Great and great-great grandchildren also survive along with nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Joann Blanchett, a sister Joan Tucker, a brother Eddie Dean Sparks, and a brother in infancy, Robert Gay Sparks.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
