OBITUARY ON LILLIAN JACKSON
Lillian Ruth Jackson, age 77, of Henderson, NV, died on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in hospice care in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was born on April 20, 1933 in New Boston, IL, the daughter of Virgil & Mary (Hibst) Anderson. She married Albert M. Jackson on March 6, 1948 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1997.
Mrs. Jackson was a waitress at several restaurants over the years, including Sprouts Inn in Quincy, and the California and Horseshoe Casinos in Las Vegas.
Lillian was a former member of Madison Park Christian Church in Quincy. She enjoyed reading, coupon clipping, playing cards, Bingo, and reminiscing with family, but her life’s greatest enjoyment was her love of Elvis Presley – highlighted by seeing him in Concert in 1976, and visiting Graceland in 2008.
Lillian’s greatest love was her husband and family and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Cathy Haskins, and her husband Cecil; A. Michael Jackson, and his wife Jonna; Susan Diane Dietrich and her friend Larry Brandhorst all of Quincy, Linda Hayes and her husband Brian of Las Vegas, NV; and Tony Jackson and his friend Wendy Urbaniak of Henderson, NV.
ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Christopher Haskins and his wife Michelle; Chad Haskins and his wife Jenny; Chuck Haskins and his wife Becky; Amanda Warning and her husband Joe; Joshua Jackson and his girlfriend Ashley Hoener; Matthew Dietrich and his wife Julie; Rebecca Reed and her husband Ryan; Michelle Ommen and her husband Ricky; Michael Hayes, Mariah Jackson, and Samantha Jackson.
ELEVEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Alexis, Austin, Jordan, Megan, Mallory, Bailey, Sophia, Charlotte, Abigail, Haley and Jamie.
THREE BROTHERS: Richard Anderson and his wife Saundra; Gary Boyd and his wife SanMei; and Alvin Wilson.
THREE SISTERS: Carol Miller, Joan Hollon, and Marlene Penne and her husband John.
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an uncle, John Hibst, two sisters: Delores Titus and Sharon Durham, two nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11:00am in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park, by Rev. Chuck Sackett. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00pm at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
