Lillian Rose Marie Aytson, age 86, of Quincy, answered the call to rest on June 28, 2021 in her home. She was born on December 28, 1934 in Quincy, the daughter of Oisciella C. and Lucille (Perkins) Aytson. Lillian in earlier years worked for the Cuckoo Clock Restaurant and Betty Gay, dress shop in downtown Quincy; later making history being one of the first five women to work at the Quincy Compressor Manufactory; where she retired after many years of service. She then worked for the Quincy Police Department as a school crossing guard at 14tth & Maine for a number of years and the QNI/QHW survey department. Lillian was a member of First Baptist Church, the Faith Unlimited Choir, the FBC Mass Choir and the Usher Board Ministry where she remained an Usher Emeritus.

Lillian played softball, was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and a vocal QHS Blue Devil basketball fan, in the stands rooting for her grandchildren, Kyle and Shy.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheri Lynn (Lonnie) Kerr of Quincy. Grandchildren, Kyle McKinley (Selena) Cartmill; Shalyn Rose Ann (Reginald) Waddell of TX; Great grandchildren, Mayson Adara Cartmill and Zion Pratt of TX; One sister, Jennifer Johnson (Glen Hicks) of Quincy; two nephews, Dr. Brandon Williams, of New Jersey and Brett Aytson of Quincy; Goddaughter and Grand Goddaughter, Shelby and Cobi Wires. Also surviving is Lillian’s best friend Beverly Lewis, her circle of girls, Jackie Harper, Frances Clay, Gertrude Mallory, Rochelle Bryant, Melva Johnson, Margaret Lewis, those that called her “Granny”, “Miss LRMA” (Ler-ma) step grandchildren, great grandchildren, Albert Cartmill, Jr. and many relatives.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Usher Ministry of First Baptist Church.
