Lillian L. Haney

Lillian L. Haney age 94, of Sunset Home formerly of 606 South 13th St. , died on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 6:10 p.m. in Sunset Home. Lillian was born October 17, 1918 in Mt. Sterling, IL a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Ebbing) Deters. She married Alfred E. Haney on March 21, 1942 in Palmyra, MO, he preceded her in death on March 4, 1973.

Lillian was a seamstress at the former Quincy Casket Company.

She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and was currently a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and St. Francis Catholic Church.

Lillian loved gardening and sewing, she made all of her children’s clothing when they were growing-up. An attribute of Lillian’s was her lifelong trait of being very independent.

Survivors include her children, Gary Haney and Cathy Ann Hall both of Quincy;
four grandchildren, Mark and Robert Haney, Becky Cain and Kevin Henrichs and his wife Kristy all of Quincy;
great-grandchildren: Kayla and Brady Cain, Lia, Madilyn and Annabelle Henrichs and a Henrich’s baby due in January.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Robert Haney and a daughter-in-law, Joann Haney.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Tom Shaughnessy, O.F.M. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Adams County Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
