Lillian K. Hester, age 87 of 829 April Ave., Quincy died on Friday, April 11, 2014 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on March 31, 1927 in Quincy, IL a daughter of William and Mary (Davis) York. She married William Hester, Jr. on July 10, 1965 in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1994.

Lillian worked at Quincy Motorola for years and then retired after working for Quincy Paper Box. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, taking walks and talking for hours. Lillian will be missed immensely by her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, William Hester and his wife Jacqueline of Bethel, MO, Michael Hester of Quincy and Jack Hester and his wife Vicki of West Minster, Colorado; a daughter Crystal Paup and her husband Robert of St. Charles, MO; and thirteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and by her dog Cuddles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Henry Pratt. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
