Lewis E. “Bud” Stark

Lewis E. “Bud” Stark, age 99, formerly of 1621 Grandview Drive, died on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the Illinois Veteran Home. Bud was born on June 1, 1918 in Quincy the son of William Duncan and Alice (Weidman) Stark. He married Wanda Dorothy Ruder on April 3, 1948 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2007.

Bud served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a truck driver for Packaging Co. and Schneidman Distributors. In recent years, Bud loved to stop by a few local establishments, play the video gaming and talk to his buddies.

Survivors include his children: Robert Stark, Susie (Jeff) Peters, Peggy (Randy) Shake, and Mary (Kevin) Hollenstine all of Quincy. Grandchildren: Missy (Jeff) Jansen, Cameron (Tabitha) Peters, April Peters, Rickey (Nicole) Williams, Derek Hollenstine, Stella Shake, Benjamin Shake, Heather Matson, Robert (Roxanne) Stark, Wes Massingill, Travis and Jason Brockumier.
Eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Diane Stark, a brother, Russell O. Stark and five sisters, Alma Kaye Ancell, Elsie Wolkitt, Edna Goehl, Dora Hickey and Inez Brinks.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
