Letha I. Brown, age 95, of the Good Samaritan Home, died on Thursday, April 4, 2019 in the Home. She was born on June 7, 1923 in Kirksville, MO the daughter of Ira & Marita (Scott) Lantz. She married John T. Brown on April 11, 1942 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Brown worked as a billing clerk for Packaging Corporation of America from 1956 until her retirement in 1978.

Letha was a member of Salem Evangelical Church. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the South Side Boat Club.

Letha is survived by:
A DAUGHTER: Barbara Meyer and her husband Alan of Quincy
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Scott Meyer, Mathew Meyer and Jennifer Mendez.
TWO GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Kellen Meyer and Jaxx Meyer.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Letha was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Michael Brown, a grandson Brian T. Meyer, a brother Lloyd E. Lantz, and two sisters: Loraine McClelland and Wilma M. Lantz.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
