LeShawnda Denise Allison-Rees
LeShawnda Denise Allison-Rees age 43, of Quincy died on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. LeShawnda was born on April 18, 1974 in Quincy, a daughter of Leland Humphrey and Ann (Allison) Hoeller. On October 28, 1998 she married Domonick Rees of Quincy and he survives.
She was a 1992 graduate of Quincy High School. LeShawnda had been working until recently at Status Foods. She was a Jehovah’s Witness. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Jamal Allison and Ra’Mya Rees of Quincy;
Her parents, Leland Humphrey and Dea of Quincy; and Ann and Michael Hoeller of Jefferson City, MO; her grandfather, Everett Humphrey, Sr. of Quincy; brothers and sisters, Tracy Smith and her husband Devidian of Flossmoor, IL; Daniel Wilson Humphrey and his wife Jessica; Scott Humphrey and his wife Katie all of Quincy; Dominic Wilson of Kansas City, MO; her friends, Missy Lewis-Bias and Kira Fountain, both of Quincy also survive.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Annabelle Humphrey.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon until 1:00 at Duker & Haugh. The family suggests memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter 525 West Monroe Street Suite 900 Chicago, IL 60661, in lieu of flowers.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I too have felt the pain of losing some of those I love in death. I hope you are being surrounded by loving family and friends and taking care of yourself during this difficult time. The God of all comfort provides hope for those who have passed away and comfort for those who have survived. We are promised that our loved ones will return to us one day very soon. As Jesus resurrected his friend, Lazarus, and many others, you will see your loved one again. (John 5:28, 29) How the True God longs to do that! (Job 14:14, 15). Until then, may you continue to keep his memory warm in your hearts until you see him happy and healthy again one day very soon. Prayers and thoughts are with you . . .
