Leroy W. Robbins

Leroy W. Robbins, age 85, of 1619 West Granview, Quincy, died on May 12, 2010 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on April 12, 1925 in Galesburg, Illinois. He married Josephine Goff on August 9, 1946 in Galesburg, Illinois and she survives.

He served his country in the United States Navy as a radio operator on the U.S.S. Dale W. Peterson from 1943-1947. Leroy was Chief Train Dispatcher for Burlington Northern Railroad in Hannibal, Missouri for 35 years before his retirement.

He was a member of the Alpha Masonic Lodge #155 in Galesburg, Illinois & the V.F.W.

In addition to his wife, survivors include:
TWO SONS: Jeff Robbins and his wife Pam of Denver, CO, & Jim Robbins and his wife Kay of Troy, IL;
ONE DAUGHTER: Judy Northcraft and her husband Jim of Dalton, OH;
ONE DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Pat Robbins of Dededo, Guam;
NINE GRANDCHILDREN & THIRTEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, & a son, John Robbins.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
