Leroy Edward “Roy” Frese

Leroy Edward “Roy” Frese, age 85, of Liberty, IL, died on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 9:30 AM in the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden, IL. He was born on August 14, 1925 in Quincy, IL, the son of Louis & Josephine (Meisen) Frese. He married Helen Mary Lenz on October 20, 1948 in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives.

Mr. Frese was a dairy farmer for more than 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a graduate of St. John Catholic Grade School. Roy was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Western Illinois Dairy Association. His hobbies included traveling, gardening, and repairing sewing machines.

In addition to his wife, Helen, Roy is also survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Stephanie Ann Neisen and her husband Roger of Keller, TX, Greg Frese and his wife Leslie of LaPraire, IL, Alan Frese and his wife Laura of Peoria, IL; and Lisa Doak and her husband Rich of Glenwood Springs, CO.
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Collin Neisen, Jeremy Neisen, Brittany Neisen, Clint Frese, Clayton Frese, Katie Frese and Allie Doak.
ONE GREAT-GRANDCHILD: Aaden Frese.
FOUR SISTERS: Agnes Voss, Ruth Duppong and her husband John, Marie Gramke and Betty Brady and her husband Frank.
A BROTHER-IN-LAW: Don Lansing
A SISTER-IN-LAW: Catherine Frese
along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Alvin Frese along with his wife Dorothy, Paul Frese along with his wife Millie and Lawrence Frese; Sisters: Jenny Campbell along with her husband Ed, and Helen Lansing; And two additional brothers-in-law: Frank Voss and Dan Gramke.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 10:30 in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty, IL by Father Jeff Stone. Interment in St. Brigid Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy and on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the services at the Church in Liberty. Memorials may be made to St. Brigid Catholic Church, the Golden Good Shepherd Home or to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
