Leonard W. Reiter

Leonard W. Reiter, age 66, of 4505 Homan Creek Dr., Quincy, died on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his family farm near Canton, MO. He was born on July 4, 1950 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of the late J. Delbert and Mildred (Adair) Reiter. He was a graduate of Unity High School and Spoonriver Community College. He married Mary Leiskau on October 1, 1982. She survives. Mr. Reiter worked at Forklifts of Quincy. Leonard was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. He was an outsdoorsman who greatly enjoyed his hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a loving husband and a great dad and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Adam Reiter and his wife Casey of Plymouth, MN, Holly Luetkenhaus and her husband Anthony of Stillwater, OK; Alex Reiter and his wife Leigh of St. Louis, MO; Austin Reiter and Aaron Reiter both of Paloma, IL
ONE GRANDCHILD: Asher Reiter.
ONE SISTER: Judy Tarkington

Leonard was also preceded in death by his brother John Reiter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 10:00 St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Mendon Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a fund to purchase trees to be planted at the family farm.

    I admit I did not know his name, but I’ve seen him hundreds of times, as a friendly customer at the Broadway Hyvee. He always smiled and said Hello. A very kind man. Im so sorry for your family’s loss.
