Leonard G. Venvertloh
Leonard G. Venvertloh, age 80, of Fowler, died on Saturday, November 30, 2019 in the Sunset Home. He was born on January 1, 1939 in Quincy, IL the son of William ‘Pete’ and Hilda (Vonderheide) Venvertloh. He married Mildred Brinkman on September 3, 1960 in St. Francis Catholic Church. She survives. Leonard was a lifelong farmer and also a rural mail carrier for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Men’s Club at the church. Leonard was an avid woodworker. He loved gardening and animals. In his younger years, he enjoyed fast pitch softball. He was a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association. More than anything else, he was a devoted family man.

FOUR CHILDREN: Ronald Venvertloh and his wife Karen of Mendon, IL; Carol Wiemelt and her husband Greg of LaGrange, MO; Bernie Venvertloh and his wife Brenda of Quincy; and Joann Ellerman and her husband Jerry of Mendon, IL.
NINE GRANDCHILDREN: Jeff Venvertloh and his wife Brooke; Josh Venvertloh and his wife Jill; Katie Venvertloh; Erin Forrest and her husband Dustin; Kelly Wiemelt; Bradley Venvertloh and his wife Ashley; Ben Venvertloh; Jamie Ellerman and Jordan Ellerman.
GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Ryan, Brennan, Morgan and Nolan Venvertloh; Josie and Jace Venvertloh; Lennox Forrest; and an additional great-granddaughter expected in March.
FOUR BROTHERS: Ralph Venvertloh; Walter Venvertloh and his wife Kathleen; Gene Venvertloh and his wife Margie and Wilfred Venvertloh and his wife Norma.
BROTHER-IN-LAW: Leroy Brinkman and his wife Virginia.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, a sister in infancy, a sister-in-law: Betty Venvertloh and a brother-in-law Jim Brinkman along with his wife Betty.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 9:15 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Transitions of Western Illinois, the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Our deepest sympathy to. Millie and all of Lenny’s family and friends. I have many good memories and am confident heaven has gained a new angel. He always had a smile for everyone and was just a good person!

I loved Lennie so much. He was part of my life from when I can remember. His smile was one of the best and you knew he liked you! A very good man!

So blessed to have been apart of this wonderful man’s life. Always putting others first and making sure everyone was happy. The many family memories especially butchering are priceless. We were fortunate to have been able to visit with Leny & Millie at their home a couple weeks ago. We know that Leny is now at peace in heaven. We send our deepest sympathies to Millie & their entire family.
