Leona P. Dopheide Altgilbers, age 82, of 1242 Vermont, died on June 6, 2016 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on June 13, 1933 in Quincy the daughter of Walter and Nana (Anderson) Hively. She married Richard J. Altgilbers, Sr. on November 26, 1988. He preceded her in death. Leona was a mother and a homemaker.

Leona was a member of the Salvation Army. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She loved to go to the gambling boat. Leona also loved dancing and family picnics. She loved anything family because ‘family was her favorite thing’.

She is survived by:

16 GRANDCHILDREN; 27 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; 5 GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Robert Burgtorf, a daughter Janet Jackson, a son-in-law: Tim Lindsey, one grandson Joseph Cheney; a sister; Margaret Denton; and three brothers: Harvey Hively; Charlie Hively, and Marion Hively.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Diabetes Association.
