Lena A. Brassfield

Lena A. Brassfield, age 82, of 314 Maple St., Quincy, died on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in her home. She was born on February 20, 1933 in Barry, IL, a daughter of James & Retha (Grunden) Evans. She married George Brassfield on July 8, 1960 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1989.

After retiring from Industrial Support Services, Lena enjoyed music, camping and spending time with her family.

She is survived by:
FOUR SONS, Terry Evans and his wife Susan of Pittsfield, IL, Charles Pressey and his wife Denise of Kansas, William Brassfield and his wife Chris of Quincy and Michael Brassfield of Quincy;
TWO DAUGHTERS, Pamela Boden and her husband Jerry and Peggy Brassfield, all of Quincy;
NINETEEN GRANDCHILDREN
TWELVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
TWO BROTHERS, Ted Evans and his wife Evelyn of Oregon and James Evans, all of Quincy;
TWO SISTERS, Betty (James) Hoots of White Hall, IL and Linda Harrington of Oregon

In addition to her husband George, and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Vernial Chipman and Evelyn Ford.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

    My heart goes out to you all. She was such a fun and loving person. She is now in heaven watching over you all, and having a blast with all of her friends and family that she has missed dearly.
