LaVerne M. Reich age 87, of 1707 North 12th Street Quincy, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 4:12 a.m. in the Illinois Veteran’s Home. LaVerne was born May 27, 1928 in Chicago, IL a daughter of Stanley and Ann (Sielski) Konieczka.
She married the love of her life, Edward G. Reich on September 5, 1953 in St. William Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2005.

LaVerne was a homemaker, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devout Catholic. LaVerne worked in the Library at the Illinois Veteran’s Home during her time there.

Survivors include her six children: Edward J. Reich and his wife Kathleen of Hanover Park, IL; Thomas A. Reich and his wife Mary L. of Streamwood, IL; Mary Pfau and her husband Dwight of Marietta, GA; Susan Pierson of Ottawa, IL Wayne A. Reich and his wife Theresa of Addison, IL and Joan M. Cartwright and her husband John of River Grove, IL. Sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, a brother in infancy and a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the All Faiths Chapel of the Illinois Veteran’s Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 9:30. Memorials are suggested to the Illinois Veteran’s Home Activities Fund.
