Larry Dale Brandsted

Larry Dale Brandsted age 69, of Quincy died on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 8:10 a.m. in his home. Larry was born July 6, 1942 to Joseph and Mayme (Martin) Brandsted in Huron, South Dakota. He married Mary Wenneker on April 27, 1991, she survives.

He was employed with Sysco Foods of Baraboo, WI for 17 years as a Sales Rep. and was promoted to Sales Manager. In 1997, he purchased a Best Western Hotel in Springdale, AR. From 1999 to 2001, he owned and operated a Hotel Convention Center in Sierra Vista, AZ. For the last ten years, he has made Quincy his home, where he attended Bethel Assembly of God Church.

Larry enjoyed golfing, trap shooting, and pheasant hunting on his cousin’s farm in South Dakota, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Mary, survivors also include four daughters and two step-sons:
Teresa Mills and her husband Dennis of Alturas, CA; Tracy Rhoades of Senora, CA; Trisha Carr and her husband Rick of Vacaville, CA; Cheryl Brandsted of Jamestown, CA; Bruce Wenneker of Quincy, and Dr. Mark Wenneker of Philadelphia, PA.

Eleven Grandchildren: Dillan Pruemer, Mayme and Joseph Rhoades, Jake and Jared Carr, Britton, Jeremy, K.C. and Misti Brandsted, Alicia and Adriana Wenneker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his only brother, Dick Brandsted.

Per Larry’s wishes, there will be no services held in Quincy, a memorial service will be held in California with his family. Memorials may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Church.

    i was so sorry to hear of larry’s passing. we were friends and high school classmates. had lots of fun running around with him and our group, wonderful memories and skip day fun. he will be missed my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. i read where he had a wonderful family and so much success and adventure with family and children and grandkids. may your memories always give you comfort and peace. jan
