L. Ruth Wiewel
L. Ruth Wiewel, age 92, of the Sunset Home, died on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the Home. She was born on March 5, 1929 in Quincy, the daughter of Ray and Virgeline (Noe) Hendricks. She married Lloyd A. Wiewel on May 5, 1948. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1996.
Ruth was a homemaker and along with her husband, farmed. Ruth was a seamstress and loved to sew. She also greatly enjoyed her garden and cooking.
She is survived by;
SIX CHILDREN: Janet Wiewel of Carterville, IL; Nancy Flowers of Peoria; Steve (Donna) Wiewel of Quincy; Sharon (Tom) Boyer of Carthage, IL; Ted (Ann) Wiewel of Coatsburg, IL; and William (Valerie) Wiewel of Fowler, IL.
GRANDCHILDREN: Christopher (Christie Martinez) Yackle, Shane (Donnie Winget) Yackle, Nakia (Jamie) Watson, Julian (Tiffany Corey) Watson, Nia Watson, Holly Ann (Eric Engle) Reinold, Jason Boyer, Christian (Leslie) Boyer, Chad (Melinda) Boyer, Beth Ann Genenbacher, Cory Wiewel, Adam Wiewel, Abby Lynn (Gabriel) Winters.
Numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
In addition to her husband, Ruth was also preceded in death by a son Randy Wiewel in infancy, a grandson Rob Reinold, a great-granddaughter and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services at noon. My heart is aching for the family. She was such a great person
Ruth was our neighbor for 9 years on Bentwood. She was the sweetest person to us and all of our kids. She loved to make chocolate peanut butter rice krispies for us! Prayers to your family because we know you lost an angel♡
