Kim Arlene Young

Kim Arlene Young, age 54, of 219 S. 11th St., Quincy, died on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 2:38 p.m. in the home. She was born on October 3, 1960 in Quincy, a daughter of Robert T. & Mary A. (Bowman) Young.

Kim worked in various positions at local Quincy restaurants before her retirement.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and a fighter, even a “tom boy”. Her family was very important to her. She also loved the super natural.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Young and his wife Abra and Christian Fletcher; a daughter Kimra Young-McGraw, all of Quincy; three grandchildren, Kylah Robbins, Zaranna Powell & Zalen Powell; her significant other, Ronald Clifford Kent; two brothers Thomas R. Young of Quincy & Robert E. Young; a sister Debra Bradshaw of Quincy; five aunts and one uncle and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Greenmount Cemetery by Dr. Larry E. Smith, Jr., DD. There is no visitation but family and friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the family. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
