Kenneth L. “Kenny” Schuerman

Kenneth L. “Kenny” Schuerman age 81, of Illinois Veteran’s Home, formerly of the Lincoln Douglas Apartments and 2219 Spruce, Quincy, died on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 2:25 a.m. in the home. Kenneth was born August 24, 1930 in Quincy a son of Karl and Mabel (Allensworth) Schuerman. He married Lorraine Owsley on October 6, 1950 in Quincy and she preceded him in death on April 28, 2004.

Mr. Schuerman had worked at Electric Wheel as a Machinist for 25 years.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Kenneth was a woodworker, he was a Cardinal Baseball fan and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, Phillip “Wayne” Schuerman and his wife Leann;
two granddaughters, Amanda (Jereme) Barnard and Amber Schuerman all of Quincy; two great grandchildren, Leighton and Hayden Barnard.
Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Gene Schuerman, a sister, Geraldine Coulter and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011
at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald Knuffman. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Family for a charity of their choice.
