Kenneth “Kenny” V. Dietrich

Kenneth “Kenny” V. Dietrich age 87, of Plainville, IL met his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at 4:55 a.m. in Quincy. Kenny was born in Quincy on November 29, 1934, a son of Virgil J. and Bertha “Bert” (Klauser) Dietrich. He married Virginia B. “Jeanie” Hildebrand on May 21, 1955 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy. Jeanie preceded him in death on July 30, 2010.

Kenny had worked in construction with Richmiller Construction Company, He then worked at Electric Wheel until they closed. He went from there to work for Ellis and Gary Fesler on their farm until his retirement.

He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Kenny was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He had served as Plainville Village Trustee, and with Plainville Village Maintenance.

Kenny was an outdoorsman, who liked hunting for mushrooms, fishing and a cold beverage. He loved playing games with his grandchildren. Kenny enjoyed socializing, he was always ready with a joke, and happy to share his mushroom finds and his pecans with family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Mike Dietrich (Sandy) of Plainville, Jane Ulm of Quincy, Kevin Dietrich (Victoria) of Payson, Chris Dever (Ben) of Payson, Cindy McGraw (Darin) of Liberty, Brad Dietrich (Gina) of Quincy, Ginger Obert (Todd) of Liberty.
Grandchildren Nicole Rabe (Stacy), Jennifer Ulm-McArtor (Willie), Morgan Dever (McKenzie), Emily Ulm-Miller (Tim), Amber Reichert (Chris), Brittany Dever (Jennifer), Sierra Dietrich-Harris (Matt), Brandon, Dayton and Colton Lord, Taylor Dietrich, Dalton Obert, Alaina Obert and Zack, Jayde & Sophie McGraw.
Great Grandchildren Max McWilliams, Madison McArtor, Samuel, Leah and Abram Miller, Kendra & Avery Jensen, Thomas & Emily Reichert and Elijah Harris. Sisters Doris Hildebrand, Connie Schutte and Brother Dennis Dietrich (Bobbie). A sister-in-law Joan Dietrich and brother-in-law Joe Sanders.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister Betty Dietrich as a toddler, a brother Eugene Dietrich and a son-in-law Jim Ulm and brothers and sisters-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday December 30, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Church. Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Cemetery or to American Legion Post #37.
