Kenneth E. “Kenny” Barry

Kenneth E. ‘Kenny’ Barry, age 89, of Liberty, IL, died on Thursday, August 16, 2018 in his home. He was born on July 23, 1929 in Quincy, IL, the son of Andrew & Clara (Ohnemus) Barry. He married Imogene Ormond on July 21, 1956. She survives.

Mr. Barry was a lifelong farmer in the Liberty area. He also worked for the Electric Wheel Company for more than 25 years. Kenny was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church.

Kenny enjoyed ‘coon’ hunting, gardening and loved his cattle. He also had a special canine friend, ‘Princess’.

Kenny was completely devoted to his wife, whom he affectionately called, Sweetie. He also greatly loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lisa Ortbals (Michael) of Columbia, MO; Kevin Barry (Sherry) of Liberty, IL; Kim Barry (Ben Dickerson) of Quincy; Daron Barry (Kelli Daniel) of Liberty, IL; and Tanya Wolf (Kurt) of Liberty, IL

SEVENTEEN GRANDCHILDREN: Chad Johnson (Katie); Brian Johnson (Kristie); Todd Peter; Cody Peter (Ginny); Adam Peter (Emily); Jeremy Boone (Ashley); Jessica Genenbacher (Ryan); Justin Boone (Jenna); Jordan Boone; Katie Mills (Aaron); Claire Ortbals (Pete Stansberry); Nathan Ortbals; Zachary Barry; Emerson Brink; Connor Wolf; Carson Wolf; Cannen Wolf.
NINE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN with an additional great-grandchild expected in the fall of this year.
ONE BROTHER: George Barry (Marilyn; ONE SISTER: Bernice Mowen;
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Virgil, Thomas, William, Paul, Vincent, and Carlene Barry.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty.
Interment in St. Brigid Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty.
Memorials may be made to St. Brigid Catholic Church, Blessing Foundation for Hospice, or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.

    So sorry we missed Kenny’s funeral. We were out of town and were not aware of his passing until we returned. Please offer our condolences to Imogene.
