Kenneth E. Ballow

Kenneth E. Ballow, age 86, of Macomb and formerly Quincy, died Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Wesley Village in Macomb.

Ken was born on February 18, 1936 in Hannibal, MO, the son of Elvin and Rose (McCann) Ballow. He married Joanne Waterkotte on September 15th, 1956, and she survives.

Also surviving are sons, Kenneth (Karin) Ballow and Michael (Tina) Ballow; daughter, Theresa (Todd) Korsmeyer; grandchildren, Kelsey (Nate) Wallace, Stuart (Julie) Korsmeyer, Andrew Ballow, Patrick Ballow, Daniel Ballow and Sean Ballow; great-grandchildren, Logan Korsmeyer, Whitley Korsmeyer, and Bennett Wallace; and nieces, Linda Collins, Pamela Morris, Deborah Hamm, Kelly Ragar.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents in law, Lawrence and Rosalia Waterkotte; sister, Marcella (Ballow) Rhea; brothers-in-law, Dale Rhea and Larry Waterkotte, and a nephew, Donald Rhea.

Ken spent his entire career in agricultural sales, starting as Sales Manager at Illinois Manufacturing in Quincy. He was Sales Manager at Pete Feeds in Frankfurt, IN and finished his career with 28 years in various sales positions at Pfizer.

Ken enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan. Ken and Joanne enjoyed traveling internationally especially after retirement where they spent much of their winters in Florida and many foreign ports on their cruises.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at St. Francis Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association or Wesley Village.
