Kenneth D. Sorrill

Kenneth D. Sorrill, age 53, of 3218 Cannonball Road, Quincy, died on Friday, October 16, 2009 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1956 in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Dean B. and Elizabeth A. (Kuhn) Sorrill.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Kenneth was a 1974 graduate of Quincy High School. He was a truck driver for R.W. Reichert Trucking Company for thirty-two years, and prior to that had worked at Deters Dairy Farms.

He loved Cannonball Acres, being outdoors, and showing cows. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

MOTHER: Elizabeth Sorrill of Quincy;
CHILDREN: Nathaniel K. Sorrill of Quincy, Sara L. Sorrill of Carbondale, IL, Nicholas D. Sorrill of Quincy, and Skyler C. Sorrill of Quincy; Ken’s ex-wife Lisa K. (LaTour) Sorrill of Quincy;
SISTERS: Kathy Liesen and her husband Jeff, Judy Deters and her husband Mike all of Quincy;
BROTHERS: Jeff Sorrill and his wife Marcia of Quincy, and Mark Sorrill of New London, MO. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and two great nieces and two great nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Bryan E. Sorrill.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 12:15 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church by Father Tom Hagstrom.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, with a parish prayer service at 4:30 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus Service. Memorials are suggested to Skyler Sorrill’s Education Fund, St. Anthony Church, American Heart Association, or Knights of Columbus T.V. Mass for Shut-Ins.
