Kenneth Alfred Schnellbecher

Kenneth Alfred Schnellbecher, age 74, of Fritch, Texas, formerly of Quincy, died on August 29, 2010 at 3:14 AM in Amarillo, TX. He was born on January 12, 1936 in Quincy, the son of Merle & Agnes (Brocksieck) Gooding. He married Esther Lane on November 29, 1965. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2001. Mr. Schnellbecher was an auto mechanic and a taxi driver in the Quincy area for many years. He served in the United States Army.

He is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Gary Robert Walker of Griggsville, Jimmy Dean Walker and his wife Marcia also of Griggsville; Janet Susie Charlton and her husband Andy of Fritch, Texas, Dena DeJaynes of Barry, Illinois, & Wendy Landers and her husband Brad of Abilene, Kansas.
THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN: Amy Walker, Leann Walker, Heidi Walker, Echo Charlton, Cody Charlton, Danny Charlton, Amanda Wallace, Lila Schnellbecher, Brandy Schnellbecher, Brett Schnellbecher and Kenneth Chase Schnellbecher, Jacob Landers and Tyler Landers.
FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Ian Wallace, Miley McKinley, Macy Harris, Brady Wade and Eden Charlton.
ONE BROTHER: Jimmy Schnellbecher
ONE SISTER: Connie Gooding
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kenneth Schnellbecher, Jr., 2 brothers: Gary Oberdalhoff and Wayne Gooding and a sister: Bonnie Sparks.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 1:30 PM at Greenmount Cemetery. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the Family. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. www.dukerandhaugh.com
