Kathleen “Kathy” Sue Short (nee Schenk), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away peacefully surrounded by her siblings on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the age of 68. Loving wife of the late Larry Short; beloved daughter of the late Martha F. and Richard H. Schenk; dear sister of Janet (Alan) Summy, Sr. Phyllis Schenk O.P., Nancy (the late Fred Sr.) Armstrong, and Mark (Lynette) Schenk; cherished aunt of 4 nieces and 5 nephews; and is also survived by her beloved dog, Susie Q; and lots of friends from all over.

Kathy was a member of Immaculate Conception of Dardenne Catholic Church where she was a member of the Prayer Shawl group, The Green Thumbs, and ICD Quilters.

Kathy enjoyed spending time outdoors with her flowers and tending to her garden. She was an amazing cook who loved to cook for her friends and family. She also liked to sew and quilt in her free time. Kathy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dardenne, MO at 7701 Town Square Ave. Visitation will be at the Church from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made in Kathy’s name to the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, IL.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. in St. Brigid Cemetery, Liberty, IL. Local arrangements are with Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
