Katharine Mary (Domzalski) Brink, age 92, of Quincy died on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Sunset Home. She was born on April 11, 1928 in Quincy, the daughter of Leo S. and Antonnetta M. (Trapp) Domzalski. Katharine married William Lawrence Brink on December 21, 1950 in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2008.

She was a 1946 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame and received a Business Certificate from Gem City College.

Katharine was employed at Moorman Manufacturing as a telephone operator until her first child was born. She then raised her five children. After all her children were in school, she worked for Jim Brown as a laundromat attendant at his many locations.

Avid reader, she read three books a week until the very end, at times she would read two books at once! She prided herself on a clean home, and her children affectionately referred to her as “Katie Klean”, her laundry was always pristine, and you could eat off her floors at any time. She loved family time. Her last outing was on Thanksgiving 2020, and she was blessed with a wonderful day with her family. Her daughter fixed her hair, she held her granddaughter’s dog, Ellie, and several of the month-old kittens that day. She sat at the table conversing with her children while they played Euchre. Her day began at 10 a.m. and she was not ready to go home until 11 p.m. She visited with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that day. She so looked forward to that outing that she called one of her children every day to ask, “Did I miss the party?”

She is survived by her Sisters: Leona Dietrich and Mary Bizaillion. Sisters-in-law: Mary Haistings and Roberta Freiburg. Children: Tom (Yan) Brink (Indianapolis, IN), Mary Ellen (Tony) Pfeifer (Englewood, FL), Linda Lipply (Plymouth, IN), Jeanne (Mark) Hill (Quincy, IL), and Lori (Andy) Nelson (Quincy, IL).
Grandchildren: David (Megan) Brink, Todd (Ashlye) Brink, Caryn (Mike) McDermott, Melissa (Alex) Morgan, Megan Pfeifer, Shawn (Jessica) Chain, Eric (Shaylin) Chain, Erin (Justin) VonderHaar, Joel (Stephanie) Hill, Brendan Nelson, Katelyn Nelson. Great-Grandchildren and other surviving relatives: Jacob Brink, Molly Brink, Jackson Brink, Quinn Brink, Lauren McDermott, Colleen McDermott, John Morgan, Margaret Morgan, Cora Morgan, Leo Morgan, Hailey Chain, Chloe Chain, Jayce VonderHaar, Emma VonderHaar, Beau Hill and Josephine Hill. And many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Katharine was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Antonnetta Domzalski, brothers, John Stathakis and Eugene Domzalski and son-in-law, John Lipply.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 26, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials suggested to St, Francis and St. Dominic Grade Schools. Services are in care of Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. www.dukerandhaugh.com
