Karen Ann Zopf

Karen Zopf, 59 of Quincy joined her creator on Sept 4, 2019. Harold and Dorothy (Bastert) Zopf, Quincy blessed with her arrival on May 4, 1960 survive their beloved daughter.

Karen was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and enjoyed her involvement with Quincy Spirit immensely. An avid Oak Ridge Boys and Cubs fan, Karen also enjoyed Special Olympics (especially bowling), bingo, and-word search. Karen had a deep love of her family,especially her great nieces and nephews.

Karen attended special education classes until age 21 and worked at Transitions for many years. She was an amazing dancer and warmed the hearts of everyone she met. Everyone was welcomed with a big hug and they were her “favorite” at that moment in time.

In addition to her parents, a very special aunt, Marilyn Martin of Quincy, survives Karen.

Danielle (Nick Mercer) and children (Ralph and Henry) of Quincy, IL,
Tori Zopf of Boston, MA,
and Peter Zopf of Watertown, MA.

A very special uncle, Kent Martin and cousin, Kevin Martin preceded Karen in death as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 9 at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home from 5-7 pm.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at Duker & Haugh with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Transitions of Western IL or Blessed Sacrament Parish. www.dukerandhaugh.com

    My feelings of heartache go out to you all. As I read through the passage of her life, I realized how special she was, so kind, loving and enjoyed her life to the fullest. Remarkable and heartwarming.

    I worked with Karen for 4 years and recently saw her at the rodeo. She was an amazing person. Prayers to her family and friends.
