Karen A. Weise

Karen A. Weise, age 68, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on October 19, 1952 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Robert and Margie (Johnson) Bergland. She married James ‘Jim’ Weise on April 12, 1980. He survives.

Karen received her Bachelor Degree in Business and Accounting and then later her Masters in Business from Quincy University. Karen worked in accounting in the Quincy area for many years.

Karen loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. She also enjoyed deer hunting. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Joanne E. Arbogast and her husband Andrew of Quincy, IL; Edward J. Weise of Quincy and Tom J. Weise and his wife Brittany also of Quincy.
GRANDCHILDREN: Norah Arbogast, Hannah Arbogast, Emery Weise, and Jensen Weise.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the mass at noon. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

    To the Weise family. Karen was a remarkable person and God has called home a true Angel. We’ll miss her Christmas family updates but are so grateful for the many years she was Mrs Claus for our grandchildren. Karen, thanks for the many acts of kindness you blessed us with.     Karen was my only first cousin and my oldest and dearest friend. We kept in touch over the years despite being in different parts of the country. She never complained or was negative. She called me “big guy” and I tried to be a big brother for her. Love you Karen. RIP.
