Judith R. “Judy” Genenbacher
Judith R. ‘Judy’ Genenbacher, age 75, of Farmington, MO, formerly of Quincy, IL, passed away in her home on August 30, 2024. She was born on October 24, 1948 in Pittsfield, the daughter of James and Kathryne (Bartholomew) McGinley. She married Roger K. Genenbacher.
Judy was primarily a homemaker. When her boys were young Judy was in charge of the lunch program at St. Mary Catholic School. She formerly had worked for CIPS and was retired from Farmington State Hospital in Farmington, MO.
Judy was of the Catholic Faith. She enjoyed spending time with family and doting on her grandkids. Long conversations, sometimes late in the evening will be remembered by her sons. Judy always loved her dogs throughout the years, and leaves her little canine companion, ‘Sugar’.
She is survived by:
TWO SONS: KJ Genenbacher (Carletta) of Maryland Heights, MO and Kraig Genenbacher (Natalie) of Quincy.
SIX GRANDCHILDREN: Carly and Kyle Genenbacher; and Taylor, Collin, Caleb and Corbin Genenbacher.
THREE SIBLINGS: Patricia ‘Pat’ Doyle, Mary Goodwin, and Linda Bordewick (Bud).
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM in St. Peter Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
What a beautiful and loving Mom and Grandma to have. You have all been so blessed and I have too. We had a special friendship I will always love and be thankful for. We both loved watching our kids grow and keeping up on all you were doing. So many good and fun memories!! She has and always will be so proud of all of you!! What a beautiful woman and soul! Our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones left behind. May her love, kindness, and wisdom live on through each person whom she touched in life. Rest in peace dear Judy.
