Judith D. “Judy” Mueller

Judith D. ‘Judy’ Mueller, age 78, of the Illinois Veterans Home, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in the Home. She was born on July 17, 1942 in Quincy, the daughter of Edwin and Carrie (Whelan) Altgilbers. She was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame. Judy married William Mueller on May 30, 1964. After her children were raised Judy worked at the Sycamore Healthcare Center.

Judy was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She was a huge sports fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the New England Patriots. She enjoyed camping, boating, motorcycles, and spending time with her grandkids.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Chelly Schutte (Joe) of Petoskey, MI, Carrie Law (Bryon) of Mt. Sterling, IL; Tim Mueller (Lisa) of Camp Point, IL; and Kristin Poppe (Christopher) of Quincy.
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Erica Southwell (Brandon), Kaila Schutte, Blake Law, Cortni Law, Brinkley Mueller, Jaxon Mueller, Oliver Poppe, and Luis Poppe.
ONE GREAT GRANDCHILD: Finley Southwell
ONE SISTER: Phyllis McDonald (Dick)
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and 2 siblings: Richard Altgilbers along with his wife Dorothy and Jeanette Weeks along with her husband Jerry.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church.

    Judy was an AMAZING woman. I got the honor to first work along side her at sycamore then the last 2 years care for her in the Vets Home. Thoughts and prayers

    I took care Of Judy at the Il veterans home she was a joy to have around i loved her like a grandma she was a special women we laughed and we cried she will be miss Love you Judy Booty
