Joyce Cowser

Joyce Cowser, age 70, of 1400 Curtis Creek, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11:12 PM in Blessing Hospital. She was born on May 15, 1942 in Quincy the daughter of Harold & Gertrude (Westhaus) Sohn. She married Keith Cowser on
August 22, 1964 in St. Francis Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2005. Joyce was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame. She had worked for Quincy Compressor/Colt Industries, Davis-Cleaver, and then worked for Sunset Home until her retirement in 2010.

Joyce was an avid Cardinal fan, especially of Yadier Molina. She greatly enjoyed her trips to the boat and stopping for scratch-off tickets. She also loved the time spent with her friends and family including the Wild Westhaus Group.

She is survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Becky Hoebing and her husband Ross, Steve Cowser and his girlfriend Deb Keefer, Julie Smith of Quincy and Kenny Cowser also of Quincy.
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Nick Hoebing, Wes Hoebing and Emmie Hoebing, and Aaron Smith.
ONE SISTER: Judy Haugh and her husband Rick
A niece, 2 nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Sunset Home or to the Blessing Cancer Center.
