Joyce C. McIntyre

Mrs. Joyce C. McIntyre, 76, 4314 Shortline Road, of Quincy, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, in her home.

She was born May 18, 1936, in Quincy, a daughter of Paul C. Dedert and Florence Disselhorst Dedert. She married Robert H. McIntyre on Dec. 14, 1957 in St. Paul Church in Fowler, Ill. He died on July 5, 2011.

Mrs. McIntyre graduated from Quincy High School in 1954 and from Western Illinois University in 1958. She was substitute teacher at many local grade schools for 25 years, and she then taught fifth grade at Baldwin Intermediate School from 1985-1998 before retiring.

She attended Ellington Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed her time in the classroom and being with her family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Melanie, of Quincy; a sister, Glenda (William F.) Todd; a sister-in-law, Marilyn (Frederick) Johnston of Park Ridge; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Rob.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Ellington Presbyterian Church Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Ron Cox.

MEMORIALS: The Rob McIntyre Football Scholarship at Quincy High School and Ellington Presbyterian Church.
