Joyce Ann Ridder, age 75, of Quincy, died on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 8:49 p.m. in the ER of Blessing Hospital. Joyce was born August 16, 1941 in Quincy a daughter of Theodore & Pearl (Anderson) Vonholt.
She married James William Ridder on August 22, 1959 in Quincy’s St. Boniface Catholic Church, he preceded her in death on December 25, 2011.
Joyce was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
She loved her family, her grandchildren, and animals too. She also liked an occasional trip to the gambling boat.
Survivors include her children, Jeffrey J. Ridder of Quincy; Jody A. Schneider of Quincy and Jennifer L. Meyer of Camp Point, IL.
Her three granddaughters, Daphne L. Whittaker of Quincy; Allison M. Meyer and Gwendolyn B. Meyer both of Camp Point, IL and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ridder of Quincy. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Glahn Beckman, and two sisters, Betty Hunter and Virginia Kappner.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Homeward Bound Waggin’ 526 South 9th Street Quincy, IL 62301.
