Joyce Ann Alford
Joyce Ann Alford, age 69, of 6728 Columbus Road, died on Saturday, January 1, 2011 in her home. She was born on November 30, 1941 in Quincy the daughter of Alvin J. & Mary K. (Mock) Jansen. She married Thomas R. Alford on April 22, 1961 in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. He survives.
Along with her husband Tom, Joyce was the owner and operator of AA Communications from 1975 until the present. She was a graduate of St. Michael’s Grade School and Notre Dame High School. Joyce was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Joyce enjoyed bridge and was very involved with her grandchildren’s activities.

THREE CHILDREN: Alan Alford of Portland, Oregon, Bruce Alford and his wife Theresa of Quincy and Scott Alford and his wife Anne of Chicago, IL
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Jessica, Christopher and Gino Alford; Owen, Olivia & Ian Alford; & Emory and Reid Alford.
FIVE SIBLINGS: Georgian Huber and her husband Earl; Michael Jansen and his wife Bonnie; David Jansen; Marcia Roulet and her husband Rick and Stanley Jansen.
A BROTHER-IN-LAW: Wayne Alford and his wife Joyce.
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Maxine Vonderheide and her husband Norbie.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home with a prayer services at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to local Alzheimer’s Association, the Blessing Foundation for Hospice, St. Francis School or to Quincy Notre Dame.
