Joyce A. Sohn
Joyce A. Sohn, age 87, of the Good Samaritan Home, died on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in the Home. She was born on September 15, 1935 in Bedford, MO the daughter of Carl J. & Della M. (LeHew) Mitchell. She was a 1954 graduate of Quincy High School. She married Albert ‘Bud’ Sohn on September 3, 1955. He survives. Joyce worked at State Street Store for many years. She then later worked for the Quincy Public School System for over 20 years. After her retirement from the QPS System, she worked for many years at the Knights of Columbus Driving Range.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is also survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Catherine Moore (Kenneth) of Alpharetta, Georgia and Scott Sohn of Quincy.
TWO GRANDCHILDREN: Colin Moore and Kaitlyn Moore.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Adeta Mitchell, Betty Drummond, Mary Ritzinger, James Mitchell, Ivan Mitchell and Bonnie Hart.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of the Good Samaritan Home and especially those of Southern Court for the care they gave to Joyce in this last year.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 1:30 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
